Old Oak Cottages are situated in a delightful rural location, just outside the pretty village of Little Thirkleby, on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors, boasting spectacular views across unspoilt countryside towards the White Horse of Kilburn.
This wonderful cluster of 8 luxury holiday cottages have been beautifully converted from Barns, Stables and an old Potato Store and retain many original features.
Each cottage offers the highest standards of comfort and design, and we ensure our standards of maintenance and housekeeping are of the highest level and it is also good to know that a significant proportion of our guests is based upon repeat custom and recommendation. There is exclusive use for our cottage guests of our superb indoor heated pool and spa bath together with an all weather tennis court. This haven of relaxation is surrounded by 400 acres of well kept farm land, walks and duck pond. Children can enjoy the Climbing Frame, Swings, Slide, Football Net, Play Fort, Trampoline and See-Saw in the large fenced play/picnic field. When we arrived the cottage (Pheasant) was warm and welcoming. The welcome basket was a really lovely touch. The attention to detail was excellent. The children really enjoyed the play park and swimming. All in all we had a most wonderful stay and already planning our next stay!

Lovely break in this fantastic cottage to celebrate Christmas and Mum’s 80th Birthday. Nice walks from the doorstep, and plenty of places to visit nearby. The cottages are in a lovely spot and thank you to our friendly and helpful hosts

We are relatively well travelled people, but at no time have I walked in to a place we are staying and can say ‘I would like to come back here’ before I even sat down. We are now at the end of our stay and yes we are coming back again. Next time with other family members. Amongst the attraction of our stay is the level of cleanliness, highly organised preparation, the warm and cosy swimming pool with its allocation per cottage, oh and not to forget to mention the great view of the White Horse of Kilburn from the sofa! Everything you need is here and be sure to read every page in the brown folder to discover the things that don’t jump out at you. The hosts really have thought of everything.
