cottages lead to local villages and to the famous White Horse of
Kilburn a well known landmark carved out of chalk in a hillside near
the picturesque village of Kilburn.

horse is 314' long and about 228' high and was the work of Thomas
Taylor, a schoolmaster of Kilburn in 1857. The village of Kilburn is
also home to the famous 'Mouseman' oak furniture makers. You can
visit their showroom and visitor centre..

Park Animal Farm and Bird of Prey Centre is only 2 miles away and
well worth a visit, especially for younger visitors. The North Yorks Moors
Steam Railway is also well worth a visit as is the Eden Camp War Museum
at Pickering. Beautiful Wensleydale and Swaledale are about 20
minutes away.
Theme parks can be found at Lightwater Valley, Ripon, and Flamingo
Land , Kirbymoorside and are less than half an hour away. The
delightful city of York is about a 20 minute drive from the cottages
