The cottages are situated in
wonderful walking country, with many walks direct from your cottage door
- one of our favourites is the walk to the White Horse of Kilburn, a
gentle stroll across fields and tracks, approx 2 miles - passing through
Kilburn Village, where you will find a lovely country pub together with
the Mouseman Furniture Makers, Visitor Centre, Tea-Rooms and Gift Shop.
The White Horse is 314' long and
about 228' high and was the work of Thomas Taylor, a schoolmaster of
Kilburn in 1857, and on a clear day can be seen from miles around.
The cottages are ideally situated
for visiting the North Yorkshire Moors, Dales and Coast and the famous
historic walled city of York. Within a short drive you will discover a
wealth of places to visit, suitable for all ages and tastes.
