ALL WEATHER TENNIS COURT.(Please bring Tennis Shoes or Trainers) We have a small selection of Rackets for guests to use but please feel free to bring your own if you wish.

LARGE SECURE CHILDREN'S PLAY AREA with Swings, Slide, Football Net, Play Fort and 14' Trampoline and See-Saw

WILDLIFE. In 2003 we created a Conservation Area for our guests to walk around and enjoy. Two thousand native broad leaved trees were planted and a large wildlife pond introduced. This is now home to our very friendly duck family and several other birds/animals.

Bookings are from:

• Sat - Sat in Beaver, Fox, Owl and Squirrel.
• Fri - Fri in Badger, Pheasant, Wren and Mouse.

Short breaks from November - March can be more flexible with their start day.

All cottages are extremely well equipped and furnished. Colour TV * Freeview Channels, DVD Player * CD Player * Electric cooker * Microwave * Fridge etc. Excellent supply of crockery, cutlery and utensils.  “Beaver”, "Fox" "Squirrel", "Owl", "Badger" and "Pheasant" have a dishwasher.  We can also provide, if required Cots, Highchairs and Stairgates - all free of charge. (We do not provide cot bedding) Beaver, Fox, Owl and Squirrel all have their own iron/ironing board. Mouse and Wren have use of a shared one, located in the laundry room. Free Wi-Fi Available. Pheasant and Badger each have their own equipped Utility Room.  From end February 2012 Beaver will have it's own washer/drier in the cottage.

For Special Occasions we can supply a China Dinner Service and Champagne glasses, please reserve on booking. There is a £25.00 damage security deposit payable for the use of the dinner service, which is returned providing there are no breakages/damage.

You will find everyday cleaning materials in your cottage - Dishwasher Tablets, Washing up liquid, Kitchen/Bathroom Cleaner etc and a starter supply of loo rolls.

Also in each cottage is a comprehensive Cottage File - full of useful information regarding the cottages, pool etc together with a wealth of local information - recommended places to eat out, local services, etc. etc.

GROUP BOOKINGS - FOR GUESTS WISHING TO ORGANISE A BOOKING OF MORE THAN ONE COTTAGE IT MAY BE USEFUL TO KNOW THAT ..... WREN, MOUSE, BEAVER, SQUIRREL, FOX AND OWL ARE ALL SITUATED ROUND A COURTYARD  .... MOUSE AND WREN ARE NEXT TO EACH OTHER, BEAVER AND SQUIRREL ARE NEXT TO EACH OTHER, AS ARE FOX AND OWL -

PHEASANT AND BADGER ARE SEPARATED FROM THE COURTYARD COTTAGES BY GARDENS AND HEDGING.

EATING OUT.

We are very fortunate to have many excellent local restaurants/pubs nearby, within a 10/15 minute drive (most of which have been personally tried and tested!!)- and we are more than happy to help out with suggestions/making reservations. Please let us know if you would like us to send you a recommended list of Pubs/Restaurants via email.

EATING IN.

To make the most of your stay and free up space in the car why not pre-order your groceries - Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury's deliver to Old Oak Cottages.  We are also fortunate to have a Riverford Organic Farm close by. They can deliver Veg/Salad/Fruit Boxes in varying sizes and can also deliver Meat, Dairy Products, Soft Drinks, Wines, Beers, Chocolates etc etc (all organic and highly recommended!)  Delivery day is usually Tuesday. Central heating
All cottages are centrally heated. Heating is included in the price. Also included are :- * Towels -  one hand and one bath per person. (please bring own pool towels)  * Tea Towels *  Bed Linen 

Laundry
There is a laundry room with:- * Washing Machine  * Tumble drier  * Iron  *Ironing board  * Large deep freezer. *Pheasant, Badger and Beaver each have their own Washer/Drier.

Environmental Awareness.
As a small business we are aware that we need to reduce harm to the environment. We currently have a recycling policy and  recycle glass, paper tins and cans. Where possible we use environmentally friendly cleaning materials and purchase recycled products. We also use energy efficient light bulbs where we can and all cottages have a high level of insulation and are double-glazed throughout.

Gas and Charcoal Barbecues are available for guests use.

Private parking
Ample parking space is available close to the cottages.

Extra services
All cottages are cleaned weekly. Maid service available mid-week at extra cost. Welcome pack on arrival which includes : * Sugar  * Milk   *Tea   *Coffee *Farmhouse Biscuits

DOGS One well behaved dog is welcome in Fox, Owl and Wren cottages BY PRIOR ARRANGEMENT on the understanding that they are NOT LEFT ON THEIR OWN IN THE COTTAGE AT ANY TIME, ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE FURNITURE OR TAKEN INTO THE BEDROOMS, ARE NOT TAKEN INTO THE PLAY AREA AND THAT OWNERS ACT RESPONSIBLY AND 'CLEAN UP' WHERE NECESSARY ON WALKS AROUND OUR GROUNDS. There is a charge of £30.00 per week/short break to bring a dog. If we find that there is any damage caused by a dog or any extra cleaning needed we will have to charge.

Take a Short Break - relax and unwind in a beautiful and peaceful rural setting. Ideal for meeting up with family and friends, celebrating a special occasion or simply 'switch off' for a few days. Our Short Breaks run from the end of October until Easter (excluding School Holidays) with Weekend and Mid Week Breaks. Special Offers Monday to Thursday.
